Maybe about true friendship. Harry was really close to Ron. So he went into the Chamber of Secrets all alone and faced Riddle and the Basilisk to save Ginny. He could have lost his life there. All this was in the name of friendship.
Also regarding Lockhart-
The book brings to light that if a person shows off, doesn't mean that he is smart or brave or anything of that sort. Look at Lockhart...all the things he says he's done, and it was all a dupe.
A person's true colours come forward only when he faces a challenge. Lockhart was afraid of going into the Chamber of Secrets even though he potrayed himself to others as a brave and smart guy.
