Many people live on the streets as they cannot afford to buy/rent a house. Some have got used to living on the streets and thus find it very comfortable.

Normally people live on the street because they have no other place to go...no money to live on, no one willing or able to take them in. Often they have no job, are drug or liquor addicts, are on disability with little income, etc. The government does not have enough funds to provide homes for all these people, and the churches do not 'take up the slack' as they, trully, should. A few live on the streets by choice, but most do so only because they have no choice.

Because it's so much nicer than living inside of a house with running water, electricity, a roof over your head, food. All those things tend to get in the way of you starving to death, sleeping under a bridge, and smelling like Rosie O'Donnell's *** crack. What kinda question is this? Your either 6 years old or you were raised by touchy-feeley Democrates who think the government will actually help you and cares about you.
