Yes, just pay attention to the buyers and the seller's feedback rating.

Generally 95% positive feedback and above pretty much guarantees you that you will have a good experience with that buyer or seller.

Less than that, you will want to do a little looking into the negative feedback they have been given. Find out what the cause of it was.

Basically yes!
As far as selling goes it is pretty much buyer beware though...that is you have to make sure the item is described fully. If you have any questions make sure you ask the seller before you buy. Check out the return policy of that person - usually unless an item is misrepresented you have no chance to return. Also make sure you check out the feedback rating on the person you are dealing with. It needs to be around 98% positive or higher.

It can be fun and quite addictive !!!

I have bought and sold on ebay and even used pay pal. My advice is never open anything in an email from them and give them any info. Go to your messages in your ebay mail to tell you if it is a real letter. They are "phishing for info" if it is NOT in your Ebay messages. it happened to my son once and he lost $300. I wish I knew he had this account or i could've warned him. Once also, someone changed my mailing address in Ebay. They(Ebay) send you an automated message when that happens. I had it changed and reported within minutes. So I check my records often. I have been with Ebay 3 years and that are the only problems I have had. Yahoo actions is pretty safe too. Never had a problem with them either or PayPal.

Although a lot of people are involved in e bay, Remember that they ask that you use a credit card to either buy or sell things however, this only promotes identity theft. You can't even see who you are financially dealing with face to face. They are nothing but faceless people you are giving your credit card number to and I wouldn't trust anything that requires you credit card number. Not even e bay.
