What kind of game is elder scrolls IV: oblivion?

Question

I heard its an rpg, but is it a mmorpg and if so is there a fee to play? Any other info you can add as far as game play or anything else would be helpful. I'm thinking about buying it for ps3.

While Oblivion is definitely not an MMORPG it does resemble one in both it's size and length. In fact, there isn't any online aspect to the game except the various downloads you can purchase off the PlayStation Network (which sadly wont contain as much content as the PC and 360 versions...actually that's not much of a loss. Do you have to have that horse armor?). In general the game is a western RPG with an enormous, free-roaming world and an extremely nonlinear story allowing you to leave your own mark on the world. While the game is not entirely open-ended it come close enough to have you playing close to a hundred hours without touching the main story line. With the amazing amount of character customization and the first-person view you become connected to your character making for some truly immersive game-play. Oblivion is a must buy for any PS3, 360 or PC owner and even if you are doubtful of the RPG genre this game is worth a try.

It is an RPG and no there is no online play for Oblivion, you can download content for the game but thats it, If you are going to buy the game i suggest buying it for your pc there are alot of extras available for the pc version that are available for the console version of the game

its a role playing game and its a great buy it buy it but it , i played it and a finish it its the best game ever made after gta san andres sure go for it men it rocks i promise u .

very old time classic sci fi. lots of different monsters, poeple,weapons,spells,you have levels you can do a lot of things suich as quest etc as you travel the world.
