Can ninjas use bow and arrows or only kunai and shuriken?

Ninjas can use any weapon they wish. Yes, even peanut butter ^^. But they mainly use kunai and shuriken because they are the smallest/quickest weapon they have. Swords would be good too, but that will take long. Ninjas specialize in speed and sometimes stealth, so they have to go quick and fast. Kunai and shuriken you just throw it, bows/arrows you have to aim and shoot. You'd rarely see ninjas using bows and arrows.

i was under the impression that ninja can only use kunai and shuriken. But i havent seen a rule in the almighty Ninja Rule Book that states that a ninja cant use a bow/arrows....
Besides it would take longer to shoot an arrow than throw a kunai or shuriken...a kunai can also work defensively in close combat

The original ninjas were an organisation. They had gunpowder pretty early on, but prefered hand to hand combat. Later codes became silly and some claimed to only use weapons that can be held in the hand (of course, most of that is for entertainment purposes, in practice they just killed), but their decendents use modern weapons (they are part of organised crime, like the mafia).

Against the mongols though, many refused to use bows and arrows (and gunpowder, which they had access to). They fought them off with their swords.

In hollywood or comics, bows and arrows don't really look as cool as throwing stars for distance combat.

I just recently read an article on wikipedia that mentioned ninjas using a short bow. So yes, ninjas can use bows and arrows.

I think only Samurais can use arrows and bows..but I SO not sure about that

They can use both even use nunchucks, spears and bows pretty much any martial arts weapon. No GUN thats it!!!!!!!!.
