NOO!!!! it is not normal at all! If it looks like coffee grounds, CALL 911!!!
if it is bright red, call your emergency nurse and then see what they say. Bright red could be that she has vomited so much that she has ripped something in her assophogus or the acid from vomiting has done some damage.. This is still dangerous and you should go to the ER. But coffee grounds vomiting is SERIOUS!

It can be if her esophagus is irritated from vomiting alot. I know I vomited so much during the beginning of my pregnancy that I vomited a little blood a couple of times. I had talked to my dr about it and everything was fine with me. I just had my baby a couple of days ago and never did vomit up blood anymore again. Just tell her to let her dr know and Im sure it is all ok.

Its not completely abnormal, but it depends on the amount.
I vomited blood once and called my midwife, she said just based off of my symptoms it sounded like it was from my nasal cavity.
Another reason there could potentially be blood in vomit is from a tear in the throat from violent vomiting.
You can call the OB (there should be a 24 hour nurse pracitioner that will return your call quickly during non business hours) and discuss this with

It doesn't sound normal, but if it was just a small amount this could have been due to trauma from previous vomiting. If you are at all concerned about health issues you should contact a doctor.

i had this too throughout my first trimester. it is normal. all the gagging irritates the esophagus and causes blood in the stomach.
i was extremely worried and contacted my doc and he said many women with bad vomiting have this with morning sickness.
it should be blood mixed with bile so its not bright red.
if you see fresh bright red blood got to the doctor.
if its just dull red or plum colored just have her mention it to her doc next visit.

definitely not normal a doctor should be contacted immediately pregnant or not it should been seen 2 soon as u see the blood

It is never normal to vomit blood, take her to the ER or get her into a Doctor, A.S.A.P.
