Why does everybody like them?
They look weird, creepy and they're singing is not that good?
I really don't mean to insult anyone but it's really confusing.
Is it just the fad?

its not a fad. im one of those "everybody" who loves them. yeah, i agree that they're really weird, but thats partly why im obsessed. they give a great alternative to music that doesn't degrade women and influence violence. theyre true to themselves and dont give a crap about other people's criticism...which is why theyre so cool.

Well, everyone is different... It's a free world...
Even if I have a very small chance of seeing them live, they're my FAVORITE band ever! Well, they do look pretty creepy at first, I mean when they're first music video went out in the Philippines, I was pretty weirded-out but after my friends really introduced me to their music, I really got hooked... they help me through my problems and inspire me to keep on living... the lyrics maybe kinda weird to ordinary folks, but if you really listen, you'll get the deeper meaning of their songs...
I'm a total fan and no one can change that except for me!
If you don't like them, well that's your opinion...
Oh, and it's not the fad... it's their music...

I believe the creepiness appeals to a lot of people, especially teenagers who have a liking for high drama and scary movies anyway. So far the surface. As for the music and lyrics: They appeal to me (I am 31 by the way) because I feel that there is not an insincere word in Gerard Way's lyrics and not one note on any of their records that should not have been there. I think the general appeal is that fans feel these are not some posers who are jumping on the emo bandwagon making a quick buck off the backs of troubled, bullied and downtrodden teenagers, but are truly just as troubled, depressed and lonely as they themselves are. As for the singing not being good.... Well, it's all about emoting isn't it? About that quiver that turns into a whine that turns into a cry of despair. Welcome to punky pop music, dear. :)

No, people don't like them because it's just 'the fad'. People like them for various reasons. They've had a lot of problems with drinking, drugs, and being suicidal. Their music has helped a lot of teens with those problems to get out of it and keep moving along in life. And a lot of people just like the way that their music sounds. And you might think that they look weird and creepy, but that's okay, because I'm sure they weren't aiming for a look that the majority of people out there would like, they just went for the look that they wanted.
It's just diversity, a bunch of people are going to like music that you think sucks, and everyone's not going to have the same opinion that you do. But hey if you don't like them then that's okay!

I don't even really know where to start. Their songs are amazing. The lyrics are great, and people can really relate to them. They sound amazing live, unlike a lot of bands. They don't look weird or creepy, I love the way they look. They're amazing people in so many ways.

Because everyone is entitled to there own opinion.
I think there very good and dont look weird at all, but thats just my opinion and i respect that other people have theirs.
And as for if its a fad or not, to some people it is, some people jsut listen to them to be cool, but this aplies to almost all bands.

Well, ive been a MCR fan since about 2003, ever since they started playing WTTBP on the radio....yeah...its become a fad. but ive been to many concerts, and they have the best singing live!!! none of its fake...seriously hes amazing!!!! They dont look weird, lol thats just them theyre cool guys, and theyre really really sweet! gerard has a heart of gold! and noo no no they're not gay, or bi. dude...you should listen to them. its a really great band,...if you dont like them...okay, and if you do...okay. =]

I'm not going to bash you, even though My chem. is my favorite band. But I get what you're saying. They we're pretty unknown before the black parade cd came out, but I've loved them since they FIRST started out. I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed with this latest cd; it's too popish. And I get what you mean with the looking creepy. Well, I don't, but my mom is always saying they look like witches and she says she'd be afraid to go to a concert of theirs because she thinks they'd cast a spell on her. But, I love them! Their earlier stuff more than the new stuff, though.

well I'm not going to insult you...MCR is not that new they've been out since 2003 ..i believe...many people like them because most of there music makes sense,and even if it sounds like there talking about vampires they re really not there referring to something more deeper you just have to listen well!...wardrobe and creepiness um makes them more unique....singing that's all on you i cant judge on what you think is good singing!!!but i love them!!!

My Chemical Romance is the "it" band right now and yes, they're appearance is "weird and creepy" but that's a part of there "image".
