If I had started working with Primerica at 19 my life would have been much better. First you need to really understand what we do before making this decision… Just so you know, we are not a bunch of life insurance salesmen. Here is the easy way to distinguish Primerica from selling life insurance, an insurance salesman has an insurance product for every need a family has. When you get into the field you should ask an insurance salesmen why they sell life insurance to fund college for kids instead of using a state or federally sponsored college savings program with tax advantages like Primerica does. Or why they use life insurance as a savings plan for retirement instead of a tax-free savings vehicle like a Roth IRA. I would rather stretch my neck from a short rope than sell life insurance for a living, that is not what we do.
Go to www.generationprimerica.com on that site there are two women who started at 19, read their story.
Age is only a barrier if you allow it to be. I affiliated with Primerica at 24. I have hired some folks that are 19. I treat them the same as my people that are 39.
Only come to work with us if you are serious about making it a career, right now that may be a hard choice to make. Otherwise you are just taking up the time of someone who really wants to be successful with us.
Your youth has an advantage in that you haven’t had your dreams crushed out of you yet, turning you into a useless whining lump of sorry.
The challenge is you might not have been beat up enough yet by the corporate world to really appreciate our opportunity.
Sounds sad but most people need to get kicked in the gut a few times in the corporate world before they really understand how different our company really is. My girlfriend is my partner in the business, she recently graduated from college and hates the corporate life, she is ruined forever, she will be quitting her job the week before we get married, and working with me full time.
I would go for it you feel like you are ready to mature at a very rapid pace, if you just want to play around for a while you might want to go elsewhere. Our leadership development programs are very intensive, require a serious mind, and more nerve than most people have. When I hire somebody that is very young I push them out of their comfort zone very fast so that I can see if I am wasting my time with them or not. Your trainer may be different.
I know this message is sort of gruff, but if you are serious it won’t bother you. If you do make a go at it e-mail me at my yahoo account and I will be more than happy to help you as I do many others across the country (from HI to NY literally)
Best of Luck.

If you want to sell life insurance for a living, go with one of the two best companies in the business - Northwestern Mutual or Mass Mutual. They provide real sales training that you can use for the rest of your life and they offer the best products.
