Yes, he'll have a Stever Kerr-like career as a spot-up 3-point shooter, and that would be a heck of a good career.

He was never going to be an NBA star; anyone who knows basketball knew this from the beginning. He's too small for a modern NBA shooting guard, not athletic enough, and doesn't have point guard skills.

I love J.J. Redick but I don't think that he will ever be a good NBA player. I think he can be and okay player. He really doesn't have an NBA style game. I think that he would be a better player in the Euro league where the style of basketball is very similiar to the college basketball here in the states. Who knows, he may be able to make way more money over there.

NO! I have a friend who is a huge duke fan (I am a terps fan) and we used to have big arguments about this.

He will not be because at Duke his senior year the entire offense revolved around setting screens and clearing out certain parts of the court to get him open shots. I hated it, but it worked great for a college team.

In the NBA the ability to shoot that well has extremely leveled out. So no team he plays for is going to revolve their entire offense around getting him open. In the NBA you must create your own shot via cuts and the dribble. That is JJs big flaw. He is not a good ball handler and he is not quick to make good cuts. So any shots he will be taking will be alot tougher and more contested. So he will not do as good as he did in college.

No.
Sorry he was a great college player, but he will not have a good NBA career. Coach K is a great college coach, but history shows that he in no way prepares his players for the next level. Where are all of the great Dookies of the past now.

I think he may in the future but don't expect him to have tons of playing time as a rookie or even next year. I think it will take time for him to start playing and getting better.

to be honest....i do not believe so...he's not aggressive enough for the NBA and doesn't bring that intensity every night....
....the closests resemblance i can see him compared to is Jason Kapono.... not even Brent Barry... Barry does more..... steals, assists,,, knows how to run an offense... and he is the dunk champion...

Kapono just shoots...just like JJ
