Is it about how when you were young you thought ypu had all the time in the world, but then you suddenly grow older and you wish you had taken up those oppurtunites. You start to regret the decisions you made in the past? If not, could you please tell me your interpretation of the song?

I honestly don't think anyone could interpret the song any better than you just did!
Kudos!

yeah there ya go and of course tis also abotu syd barrett specifically, as is the whole album. more definitavely, abotu him wasting his time after he left floyd and doing nothing with hsi music
this is an edit
wow amzing to me that all these poepl that write stuff abotu floyd have no feaking idea
DSM, WYWH, Animals and the Wall are ALL about Syd Barrett to soem degree, also abotu Roger Waters dealing with the death of his father in 1944 during the war and his inability to reconcile his life with the media and societal values. teh reaosn PF was so great is that they were so masterful at weaving these themes together and into a finished product that we all could relate to

I think the song has a different meaning as a whole.

the album "Dark Side of the Moon" is all about stresses that affect our daily lives ("Money" is about economic stress, "On the run" is about the stress of hustling around, etc.) . im not sure about all the songs on the album, but i do know that "Time" is about how people never seem to have enough time in the day.

That's a great interpretation! Pretty close to mine.

The way I always saw it is that you're eager to grow up when you're green and young, but then you look back and look forward one day and notice that you're going to have work and kids to feed and so many other responsibilities, and you want your teenaged years to last forever. Then, when you are supporting a spouse and kids, you look back to those days when you were carefree and long for them again.

I'm tired of Pink Floyd writing in, and asking questions about their own songs. Talk about an ego.

Yes. I also think they were observing that we weren't sitting back and just enjoying life (every year is getting shorter...etc.)
