The person may have been transgendered but that doesn't mean SHE (and yes it's SHE not "the person" because it's respectful to refer to transgender people as the gender in which they present themselves) it doesn't mean she's gay.
Transsexuality is a incongruency of GENDER. Homosexuality is an attraction to the same SEX.
Gender identity and sexual orientation are two totally separate things. She could have been transsexual and likes women for all you know. That would actually make her a TS male to female lesbian. Now, if she had liked men, that would have made her straight. I know it sounds confusing because a lot of people think of a TS woman likes guys that means that SHE is really a "he" and therefore since "he" likes men that makes him gay. That's not true. You have to go by the gender the person identifies with, and then from there, go by THAT gender and then determine what sex the person is attracted to. Then THAT would be their sexual orientation.
My question is why were you so creeped out? She's a person just like you are. I would actually find her to be MORE of a person than you are in MY opinion, because she shows open mindededness and an ability to live her life the way she wants and she knows who she is, and she doesn't let the thoughts of narrowminded people like yourself who thinks she's "creepy" affect her. She's brave because she's living the life she wants to live in a society that is not accepting. That's confidence, bravery, and the ability to not care about what others think or let it affect her life. Maybe you should think about it THAT way and grow up a little.

People change their sex because they don't identify as their birth sex. Their mind identifies as the other. We switch sides so that we can be comfortable within our own skin. It really sucks being stuck in a form that you really hate every second of every day. As for that person's sexuality, gender and sexuality are two seperate things. If the person was in fact a "male to female transsexual" then *she* could be straight, bisexual, or lesbian.

Oh, and I color outside the lines does have a good, in-depth answer even though he does come off a little bitchy. Wrong time of the month maybe or did I just hit below the belt (pun intended) with that one?

The first thing that should keep you from judgment is the scope of the relationship, which is he is taking your money for stuff you want. You should not act like you are measuring every person you meet as if you plan to sleep with the them.

The second thing is looks are too little to judge by. I read that defendants in criminal trials who are ugly are convicted at a higher rate. Therefore some of these people are convicted for being ugly and some pretty people are let go because they look good.

Good luck, be a sweet person. It's worth it.

Changing your sex has nothing to do with your orientation. If one believes that they are female and have surgeries and hormones to become female and like men they are straight. Conversely, if they do all that and like women they would be gay, however being a transsexual is not a "hyper" form of homosexuality, gender identity is not related to sexual orientation at all. If you would like me to explain it more clearly or anything feel free to e-mail me and I will try my best to answer your question(s).

Someone who changes their sex is transgendered/transsexual. Changing genders is a long, draining process (emotionally, financially, etc), and I feel that anyone willing to see it through is very brave.

I second what Riley said. Please don't close your mind to people who are different. It can be confusing if you don't know much about it, but there are resources to find the facts.

There is NO SUCH THING as a sex change. Lopping parts off or sewing them on does not change gender. It just makes you a freak.
