I just dont see why ppl like it so much... Hit a ball with a bat, then run... i dont see the fun in it.
Hockey on the other hand... Fast, lots of action, fights, hard hits and it takes skill. I dont see any of that in baseball.

It's our national pastime. I suppose it has a lot to do with what you grew up watching and playing. Hockey is a great game as well. I just happen to enjoy baseball more. Try hitting a baseball come at you at 90 plus MPH and see how easy you think that is?

That's cool Landon, it's the same way we Americans feel about Soccer...borrring. We just don't understand how anyone can get excited about a game that for the most part, ends up NIL-NIL.

And Cricket? don't even get me started.

Like you, we enjoy the occasional game of Hockey as well...it's a fun game, lot's of excitement and sometimes they even score a goal or two. But even NHL Hockey here in America has nose-dived in popularity and attendance lately.

To love the game of Baseball, you have to have been born with the sport as part of your culture so you could grow up learning all it's interesting facets, subtleties and elements and along the way acquire the skills required for throwing, catching and hitting that silly little ball around the baseball field.

You are mistaken about one thing though...Baseball does require a lot of skill...to pitch the ball in such a way that a batter cannot hit it....to catch the ball in such a way as to record an out...to field and throw a ball hard and accurate enough that you get it to a base to record an out before the runner gets there...to hit a pitched ball where a defensive player "isn't" and best of all, to hit a pitched ball over the fence to record the ultimate offensive play...the homerun!

So, in America it's called "The National Pastime"...
it's our nation and it's our favorite pastime.

Unless you've come to understand and play the game of Baseball yourself, you wouldn't be expected to understand why it's so popular here in America...
you'll just never know what it is you've been missing.

Baseball is a great game because of the variety of events that make up a game.

Hockey is a one-trick game: skate, skate, pass, score.

Basketball: dribble, dribble, pass, score - how lame is a game that has the net ["goal"] just high enough that a tall player can jump and hold onto the net and drop the ball in?

Soccer: kick, kick, pass, score.

Poker or backgammon? Yeah, right!

Fights? Try boxing or wrestling. But hockey? It's obviously a boring game if you go hoping to see the game interrupted by a fight!

Baseball: pitch, swing, bunt, double play, popup, home run, triple play, fastball, slider, curve, cutter, changeup, steal, throw to first, double steal, etc. It's probably too complex for most people, and a three-hour game in the age of short attention span? Boo-hoo - cry me a river.

Baseball is the American pasttime. It takes tons of skill to be a great baseball player. You try hitting a 95 mph ball with a stick 400 feet. Its a tough thing to master.

I admit I love hockey more than I will ever love baseball, and I wish it was more popular in the USA, but baseball is the American game and has a long history of being in the USA.

Baseball is to America as Hockey is to Canada. Its just that simple. Both sports require intense training and working to be a pro.

Why is hockey big in Canada? Why is soccer big in England? If you were born here and if you grew up here, you would understand. Also, why does a great sport have to be "fast, lots of action, fights, hard hits and it takes skill"? It sounds to me that you don't know much about baseball or, most likely, you're unwilling to give it a chance.

they're unlawful interior the u . s . and not all of us has used them. There are some life like wellbeing hazards that comprise making use of PEDs and not each and every participant had to take that danger. The Olympics began testing interior the late 70s and the NFL all started interior the early 80s. the clarification MLB became 2 a protracted time in the back of the curve is their union is heavily greater desirable than the different in professional activities. additionally it became approximately funds. After ninety 4 the proprietors have been merely keen to start enjoying back. They weren't going to ask for drug testing on condition that they had no leverage interior the placement and merely needed the strike to end. The gamers union is largly in charge as they antagonistic skill drug assessments for some years. PEDs do no longer merely make you hit the ball greater, they shop adult males fit. gamers can bounce back from injuries quicker and and can play at a severe point later into their occupation. i think of a super ingredient is that its merely no longer honest for people who've been clean for years.

As a Canadian living in the U.S. that loves both sports let me try to answer this. They both are their respective nation's pastimes and it largely has to do with what you grow up surrounded by. When I was in Canada it was all hockey all the time (to a degree that Americans really don't understand, hockey is like the NFL is in the U.S.). In the U.S., the first sport you usually play (before football) is baseball. When I was in Canada I didn't get football or baseball until I moved to the U.S. and about 95% of my American friends don't get hockey. It's just the way it is.

I agree with you. Hockey is fun to watch. The fights are always the best. I think baseball should be set up that way. If there is a fight between a pitcher and batter it would be far more interesting to watch

Hockey sucks, I don't know how any one can stand watching a bunch of idiots skating on ice and occasionally throwing some punches at each other. Real exciting
