Your last line perfectly sums up the situation we face in Iraq. These people have been fighting among themselves since recorded history began. We were arrogant and foolish to think we could bring democracy to people who murder each other because they wear different colors while praying.

they don't have the spirit of god guiding them, they have hate.
after the Yankees invaded the south and destroyed the south and killed about 70,000 innocents and half the men of fighting age ,the Southerners didn't do all that killing of occupation soldiers are blacks are Yankee carpet baggers.which they easily could have. the kkkk gave back power to the rightful people, but there wasn't massive amounts of people killing, the kkkk just wished to take back the state houses ,which the ignorant uneducated blacks and Yankees had power over, when they got The power back they stopped,,they had Christ in there hearts mostly and they went to church and they knew what was right and wrong,God is what is missing from there culture,is what i am saying,
those people have a religion that says its OK to kill, they have hate .I pray for them is all i can do, even when we leave they will continue killing each other because there have two different Islamic sects that hate each other just because they believe little bit diffferent that would be like Southern Baptist's waring on catholics, that's weird,
they have all that tribal warring culture and its in there blood
they needed a dictator to keep them in line ,we messed up warring on them,.whats weird is we supported Saddam , for many years then changed our minds.we need to leave, simple, leave and a lot of the fighting would stop, and they can then handle the problem we gave them, no real leadership.

It's a good job Islamism is a peaceful religion, just think of the mayhem if they weren't. It's a sad case of Muslim killing Muslim and Bush and Blair are telling us they are better off now and quite happy. The coalision has destroyed what was a thriving country, the infrastructure has gone, a lot are homeless, shops are bare, schooling has gone and hospitals have nothing in them. The two Bs have done a brilliant job of ruining the country all so the greedy money men can make more of their obscene profits.

you already have 9 answers which pretty well sums up the situation -- from complete ignorance of what the middle east is all about --specially Iraq and its fractions to answers which somewhat hideously give away the bias of the answerer. My reply is "war will never stop" (and I do not mean the war in Iraq-- that will definitely stop) as to the other general concept of fighting among "men" that will never stop. Hard to explain it on one liner but the human psyche is made up of the "fighting element" and the "peace" (kind of yin and y...whatever it is called). But you have an interesting question there -- unfortunately there is no hopeful answer. voila.

Do you think that this war in Iraq has something to do with Bush being the president? Maybe when he leaves office it will stop!

When the people doing this start to believe that they will be punished by Allah instead of rewarded.
Since this probably won't ever happen, it won't stop.
