Hi mate, have experience with mobiles and specifically contracts (P4U and T-mobile). Quite often when you connect to a new contract depending on which network it can sometimes take up to 48 hours for the new sim card to be activated by them... don't know the reason for this but it is the case. In most cases it is normally activated within a couple of hours. But it cannot be activated while the phone is switched on with the SIM in it, you need to switch off the phone and retry it every now and then.

What I'd suggest is if it still isn't working correctly after 48 hours of waiting call the network service provider and ask them to activate your SIM.

Hope this helps..

Phone the service provider even though you have the old sim you have to register the new sim for the phone to be activated fully

You have to register your new sim card. Try ringing the customer service advisor, you should of gettin £1 free credit on your new sim card to enable you to ring them and register your details. You may be able to keep your old number! Good luck.

it usually takes 12 to 24 hours for the operator to pull there finger out and get you connected to the network, if still no joy
take it back to the shop and get them to sort it out

Its possible that your simcard has not been registered. Phone your network provider and they will send you an update or possibly a new simcard.
