I feel breastfeeding may affect my ovulation so I decide to breastfeed my baby only throughout the night to help me conceive. Will this still affect my ovulation?

Yes, you can get pregnant.
The Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM) is only effective for about six months post partum.
If you are not exclusively breastfeeding a younger baby, you can also get pregnant, even if your period has not returned.

A healthy woman's body is designed to have kids about 2 years apart. If you use no birth control and nurse your baby only when s/he needs it, you should conceive again when s/he's around 15 months old.

This is what my mom did and we are all 2 years apart, all with birthdays in the same month.

And she got pregnant each time on the first ovulation - without getting a period.

Breastfeeding can decrease the odds of getting pregnant, but not stop you from getting pregnant. Many, many women have become pregnant while still breastfeeding. Don't listen to the people who tell you to stop, just b/c your baby is one. That doesn't mean you have to stop. Congratulations on bf this long and continue as long as you want. It is your choice to stop when you want!

Totally depends on you. Do you have your cycle back? I swear I ovulated the day I dropped below 4 feedings a day as I got my period 2 weeks later. My baby was 10 months old. My second nursed quickly & I got my cycle back when he was only 3 months old even though I was nursing exclusively - glad I wasn't counting on nursing as birth control.

The less you breastfeed, the more of a chance you have of getting pregnant.

I would have thought the best chance of getting pregnant would be to start by having sex!
