Not really. Unless she asked my i would not tell her.
Even though she is my mom and all NOBODY need to know if you got your period or not. Getting your period is a personal thing and should not be told to just anyone.

personally i didn't, i told her when i had my first one and if i had anything unusual/any problems (like bad cramps or really heavy bleeding). But if you feel comfortable telling your mum then i don't see why not, if you don't want to tell her then don't! it's up to you, i don't see why it is so bad to talk about periods, when i was at college i always felt comfortable talking to my best friends about periods and now i'm at work in a place where 95% of the staff are women, it helps to be able to talk about periods so you know if you've got cramps or something you can tell someone and maybe they will make you feel better :)

yup.
i told my mom pretty much everytime. and when i didnt tell her, she would ask "are you on your period?". it was weird because i wasnt even regular yet!!
but as i got into my late teens (16 or so) i stopped telling her because it was basically a part of life.

I was embarrassed that i had it for like the first year or do and tryed to hide it, and never tlked about it. Now im more comfortable and more mature, so ill tell my mom if i have really bad cramps and want to skip skool or w.e. But i dont really tlk about it. im 16.

If your mom is keeping tabs on when you get your period maybe shes scared you are going to get preggers.

Im very close with my mom, so yeah I would tell her. Its not embarrasing to tell your mom.
