I am trying to determine a matter of fact, not debate politics. It is a matter of historical record how exactly how many U.S. Attorneys Bush fired at the beginning of his FIRST term. All I'm asking is, how many?

I'm looking for statistics. Does anyone have real, documented knowledge of the exact numbers of U.S. Attorneys that Bush fired at the beginning of his FIRST term? No guesses please :-)

I don't know that answer, but what does that have to do with the current situation? Nothing.

firing of attorneys are like coaches of football being fired....when a president takes office, he does'nt need opposition from lawyers that did'nt vote for him==In the last 6 years in MY opinion. The football organizations, professional athletes and Americans= especially COACHES were cheated by the N.F.L. who in my opinion was bought and paid off by A quarterbacks organization. No matter what team this one quarterback was on this team plays were condoned by referees. Each game looked like a fixed game for two reasons to make sure a certain team was no.1 and to make $$$ knowing and thwarting each play to make a certain team win each game until the season is over. The N.F.L. won all 6 years and the ORG.'s that bought a quarterback bought their championship year, but did'nt win honestly and each ORG. fired their coaches without knowing the real truth of my opinion.

Bush fired 91 of 93 U.S. Attorneys at the start of his first administration. The firings were done in 2001, but not all at one time. Details can be found on the DOJ website if you look hard enough, or at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dismissal_of_U.S._attorneys_controversy

This whole situation is telling our country to be more divided. I applaud the fact that he did not fire any of them and gave them all a chance. He fired 8 out of 93 and is catching this much flack? When a previous President can fire all of them.

From now on I would not be surprised if every President regardless of party affiliation doesn't start with a clean slate, just so they do not have to go through this nonsense.

That's not the question anymore. The question is why were the 8 fired without Congressional approval...we all know each incoming President " ACCEPTS THE RESIGNATIONS" of the previous administrations crew.

Doesn't matter, nor does the one's he just fires, he DOES NOT NEED congressional approval, he can fire and hire who he wishes. Just like Clinton could.
