Hello! I have two questions...

1. For better gaming performance, I now have a 2.40 GHz Processor and 1GB of RAM.

I have just bought a 3.33 GHz processor but should I return it and buy another stick of 1GB RAM?

So whats better for gaming, more FPS, for BattleField 2 and other games?
3.33 GHz + 1GB RAM
or
2.40 GHz + 2GB RAM

2. What is a processors Job? What does it do?

Thanks!

3.33 GHz + 2GB RAM is much better
What is a processors Job? To run the software
What does it do? It processes the command code with the software application.
****Please not more processor speed the fast things run .And the more memory the smoother the running happens

Difficult to answer without all the details of what you have. It will only run as fast as it weakest link. What is the speed of the Front Side Bus? What is the type and speed of the memory? What type of Graphics card and interface? A faster processor won't help if the data flow is bogged down somewhere else. A sign of needing more Ram is if you see physical memory is always used up and it's often going to the hard drive. This can cause pauses in the action. If that's the case...try Memory first.

The processor directs all the main data flow throughout the computer. It is the heart of the system. Devices send most data to the processor which sends it back onto the Bus to complete the action. That's simplistic, but the basic.

1. The processor is the main component of your computer. This does 90% of the data processing on the computer.

Whether or not the processor or ram will have a bigger benefit all depends on what operating system you are using.

Assuming you are running Windows XP, the processor will probably do more for you than the memory. More memory will decrease the loading times, but will not help much in the terms of FPS.

2. The processor is like the brain of the computer. Basically it runs all the operations on your computer except for some of the graphic processing which is done by your graphics card.

im sorry, but you deserve this
unplug your computer.
give it to your neighbor.
never touch a computer again.

sorry, but its sort of a no-brainer that the processor processes all teh data, seeing as how it is in teh name of the component

also, 3.33ghz and 2gb ram is good, tho if it is a dual or quad core, you should max out the ram, give teh cpu more "room to breathe"

1)for gaming its better, 2.40 GHz + 2GB RAM
2)look at its name, PRCESSOR, it's a device that process command that came from other devices, and memory, it's works like our BRAIN!
