I don't listen to Marilyn Manson, and I don't really like his music, because of its style, but I respect him as a person.
Have you ever listened to an interview with him? He is a very intelligent person, and he makes some deep and compelling remarks about our society. He is particularly concerned with issues of conformism, especially gender. He is particularly concerned with reaching out to people who feel alienated or marginalized by society, and I think in many ways he envisions a society in which people are more accepting of people who are currently considered "deviant".
Many people misinterpret his music because it is very "dark". However, his music is not supposed to be taken literally--a lot of it is like a satirical commentary of our society, pointing out things that are wrong with our society, with an eye towards change.
I included a few links to sites. One is a fanlisting that lists a little under 3000 fans...I'm sure he has far more than that though. You might also be interested to know that Marilyn Manson has moved into filmmaking recently.

I can't stand Marilyn Manson. He is ugly, he looks like crap, and he can't sing..for his life! I think he has a lot of druggie and gothic fans though.

I think this 'person' is just a cheap rip-off from Alice Cooper.
The severely "hating all christians" type of titles compared with lousy makeup that wouldn`t even scare a yellow chicken... it`s just pathetic.
As to 'fans' - who knows - one day he`ll have 2, the next 2 million.
"stars" these days don`t have longevity anymore.

He has good music. He is an intelligent person as well. He has millions of fans all over the world.

No, I never liked him. He has little talent and has a knack for ruining other people's songs. Did anyone notice when he went "glam" for one album it didn't sell as well so for the next cd he went back to being the evil anti-christ guy.

I don't know, I personally think he is a little scary. I mean, I don't know very much about his background, but somebody who thinks they are the anti-christ, now that is a little strange. I don't know what to think about him, but I guess we all have our places in the world.
