Why has noone said Black Sabbath? They revolutionised Rock and single-handedly invented Metal, the greatest genre on earth!
No Sabbath = no Death, Black, Doom, Thrash, Stoner, Experimental Metal
That means no Sabbath = no Darkthrone, Cannibal Corpse, My Dying Bride, Metallica, Celtic Frost, I could go on and on and on.
They're the only band on this list so far that are responsible for the state of all music today.
I rest my case.

That is way to difficult to choose......... but my favorite bands are metallica, aerosmith, acdc, system of a down, guns n roses, megadeth, rush. basically anything that sounds good.
