med school?

how can i get into med school, good answers please. how have most successful ppl got into med school?

Good grades in your undergrad (preferably biology, chemistry, but you can have a non-traditional major, just make sure you have a yr of bio+labs, a yr of chem+labs, a yr of physics+labs)

Good MCAT score

Volunteer at a hospital or nursing home

Volunteer in a research laboratory

Volunteer as a Teaching Assistant in college (for your science labs)

Several strong letters of recommendation

And yes, an interesting and well-written personal statement.

Hopefully u are not either northern asian or southern asian because there are soo many of those students in meicine at the moment that they are considered a majority in medicine at the moment. I am an Indian student with a GPA of 3.8 and an MCAT score of 34. I majored in history because I was told that liberal arts majors are preferred by med schools. However, I was not accepted by any American medical schools and I was told privately by a doctor on the admissions committee that being both an Indian and a male worked against my admission. Medical schools in America make money by admittiing minorities and thats why they prefer to admit white, hispanic and african americans. I would advise you to take it easy in college and just focus on getting a bachelor's degree in the field of your choice. After that, apply to Ross University School of Medicine in the Carribbean, and fulfill your dreams of being a doctor.

If you are still in school try and score above 20 on your act or score high on your sat. Try to volunteer at your local hospital or anything to show that you have experience with medical history, even if you are just a sec.
