(talking about Grandmastah Flash and the Funk Five) I mean, its called the ROCK N ROLL Hall of Fame, isnt it? or is there something that I'm missing here...

Yeah, I know, seems ridiculous right. I've gone to the Hall many times (I love it there), and the whole purpose of the Rock Hall is bands and musicians that have actually shaped music in one way or the other. Stevie is in there, P-Funk is in there...it's stupid. I just don't know why it's not called the Music Hall of Fame. I think they are struggling for artists to induct.

If you think about it how much rock and roll is there anymore. When it was created Rocl N' Roll was the most popular music of the time. But Times change even the Sex Pistols made it in. I believe that the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame is more for the most influential musicians and musicians that changed our way of thinkind. I.E. the Sex Pistols and Grand Masta Flash
My bigger peeve is why the inductions ceremony is NYC when the Hall of Fame is in Clevland

Rock 'N' Roll encompasses may different types of music, including hip hop. (Although I consider Grandmaster Flash and th FURIOUS Five more rap than hip hop). Grnadmaster Flash released songs like "The Message" any early example of socially conscious rap music. They're a good example of the best of what early rap music represented.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also include such performers as the Everly Brothers whose music is probably more country orientated than rock and roll.

in my view, no. I take excitement in hip-hop (extraordinarily 80s/90s stuff, cutting-part-day hip-hop and rap is dire). There must be - i don't know if there already is - a hip-hop corridor of repute.
