how do i get a good friend?
i moved and have been in this small city for 9 months.
its a big difference from cities like dallas/ft.worth and houston
i left all my good friends back there
and life is a drag over here
i got some friends but nothing goes farther than meeting each other at school (high school)
all of these guys have known each other since elementary

It's hard coming into a new school where there r already tightly knit groups. It may seem hopeless at first, but once u get urself out there and ppl get 2 kno u, u'll make more friends. Just ask ppl u talk 2 in class 2 hang out sometime- play vidoegames, go 2 a party, whatever. Let ppl kno that ur into the social scene- get urself invited 2 places. Whatever ur hobby is, find guys in skool who u'd want 2 b friends w/ and ask them 2 do that w/ u. Never give up, and if they reject u, always kno that there r plenty of other ppl out there who would b ur friend. R there any other new kids at ur skool? Try 2 make friends w/ them. 4get the popular crowd 4 now. I'm sure u have tons of interesting stories 2 tell about Dallas. Join some sports or other extra- curriculars.

I know how you feel- i moved to a different city and a new school both during the same summer so i had no friends that lived near me and no friends at school. It was really tough.
I suggest you get to know as many new people as you can.. you will find people you have stuff in common with and get to know them even better. Keep communicating with your old friends though...
Also, if there are other new kids at your high school.. get to know them. They probably wont have many friends either. That is one thing you will have in common with them! But you will know how each other feels because your both new.

Invite the ones you do have over to your place for a party or a movie night or something like that. Each time you do stuff together you will get a little closer until you feel like at least one of them is a good friend. Good luck!

That has never been a problem for me, honestly. i'm the open type. But, if you want to get to know them better, have a party or something at a house or restruant and just hang out and have fun. Then, somehow after that; after you keep on going places with them, they'll eventually invite you to their other "events" and i guess, you guys will become closer friends? =) GL

ya, moving does suck, esp when there's like no people in the new town, n there all like tight-knit. try at OTHER high schools, at clubs or inter- activities, n all. get into what u like to do, then maybe ull find friends within thoses same interests.
