I'm stuck in arut and don't know how to get out of it, I'm in a low paid job, infact every job around here is low paid thanks to the foreign workers, I'm in a lot of debt, I work just to pay the debt, I have money for nothing else, I'm depressed over the head of it all and don't know what to do.

Its really depressing having no money, I've never had a holiday, I can't afford a car, I can't get any loans to pay of debts.

I just feel totally stuck a totally fed up

I think the line "because of foreign workers" is your problem.

You think that foreign workers took your job(s)? No dear, they are WILLING TO WORK for pennies even.

You want all the glory with no sweat. Sorry, doesn't work that way unless you're an executive.

I suggest going back to school - the higher you go the better the pay.

And please, don't tell me about poor. I have a 12 year old child I'm raising all alone in places where shoeboxes cost you over $1200 a month.

I don't gripe, I went back to school. I have more bills than money right now but soon, I'll be on the other side. Hope you have the courage to get there too. :)

there are several options open to you but having a loan isn't one of them. you could approach a debt management service who will look at your income and out goings they will ask you first to open a cash account with a bank and then negotiate with all your debtors either a settlement figure or a more manageable payment.

or you can open a cash account on your own and then tell all your debtors what you are able to pay as long as what you suggest is not ridiculous creditors can not refuse a smaller payment. as long as you are committing to a regular payment also they are obliged to freeze the interest if you explain that the debt is at risk of not being paid.

I've always told my kids that they should always remember one thing in life - you are never stuck anywhere. You can always pick-up and leave and start all over again (unless, of course, you're in prison... duh). So, what's holding you back? There are ALWAYS ways to make MORE money. Cut lawns, wash cars, babysit, clean yards, sell on ebay, or take on a moonlighting job. Set goals for yourself (in six months I want to pay off this credit card; in six months I want to have an emergency fund set up; in 12 months I want to have a down payment for a car lease, in 24 months I want enough savings stashed away so that I can leave this town and start over again, etc.). If you need to increase your skills to get a better job, then head to a community college and pick a profession of your choice. Good community colleges set you up for the job market in two years time - check them out. Please don't despair. A lot of us haven't had a holiday either (kids take all our money!); but you can make a at home holiday by going to see a movie, going to a sports event, or a nearby art fair (check out your local newspaper and use your imagination). You are NOT stuck, my friend. You CAN strive for a better life. Make a plan and then take it one day at a time.

it may not seem like there are any positives but try to focus on them anyway. I feel propa sorry for you! You wont be able to afford college but maybe night school or try ICS distance learning maybe. If you cant afford the courses maybe you should try and get a career development loan, however another loan even for learning probly isnt best for you right now

Find a way to go back to school and get an education. Enhance your skills and go looking for something better. If you take the "poor me" route you will never get out of your rut.

Cheer up, pull together some confidence and work hard at bettering your situation. Complaining gets you nowhere. Action gets you where you want to go.

See if you can get help from family. If you make it seem like youre trying to help yourself then they will be willing to help your efforts. It might seem dumb and lame but see if you could move back in with your parents. Maybe try getting an apprenticeship somewhere that will pay you. The money might seem slow, but at least when your finished with it there will be bigger and better things waiting for you.

try and get the family to help you to get out of debt before it gets even bigger. then think clearly at what you really enjoy...people are normally very good at what they enjoy doing, look for work in that...or start your own business, maybe gardening teaching something you know how to do...loads of things don´t need cash to start them and don´t need qualifications either- good luck
