The irony in this is amazing. The US has some of the strictest laws in almost everything...sex related, drug related, violence related, alcohol related, driving related...it goes on and on, and yet comparing to other countries for example europe where there are unisex bathrooms and people are having responsible sex at a young age, and where the std rates and drug rates and crime rates are astonishingly lower...the US is drastically behind. The laws dont do much- on the contrary, kids WANT to rebel by nature, so when you put restrictions on them they work hard to overcome them. When you empower them and give them a choice, they grow up. So there is your answer :)

I don't live in the UK, but i'll tell you one thing, changing the age won't make a difference. Kids will find their ways of getting their alcoholic satisfaction anyways. I mean if some kid is drinking up a storm in his bedroom...how are the police gona know. Changing the age never did anything, nor will it...who completely obeys the law anyways?

Only if they make 21 the age of majority as well. Here in the US, at 18 you're old enough to go to war and die for your country but you can't have a beer? Its nonsensical. Either you're an adult or you're not.
