okay i have a 1969 gmc 1500 series and i know that later years within about a 5-10 YEAR range have certian parts that are compatible with it so i was wondering if earlier years like 5 or 6 years earlier would have compaible parts with it???

Body parts are more limited. 68-72 are pretty much compatable all the way around. 67/68 hoods and front fenders did have a variable in in the slant of the nose.
Mechanically, you have a wider range of options. Engines, trannies and drive train are pretty much the same up into the mid-80's, with only slight differences here and there, one of the advantages of Chevy's. Even parts up into the 90's and 00' can work depending on your modifications and desired applications. I have two 68 trucks and a 72 Blazer and love 'em! Good luck.

depends on the parts you need engines and trannys are interchangeablebut most body parts are not, i have own 62,2-64 chev pick ups
