Ive got a checking account, and a statment account which Im using to save up at least 7 grand, but no luck cause you see, I also had a savings account whch recently only had about $200 in it but I recently closed it cause it was getting difficult to juggle 3 diff accounts so I now only have the checking account and the passbook which the 7 grand is supposed to go... any tips would be appreciated

You make $20 per day at $7.75 per hour? That's about 2.5 hours a day... How old are you? Unless you're in high school, I'd suggest you start by trying to get more hours at work or another job. Even if you're in high school, you can get more hours. (The high school students who worked for me would work normally 3 hours M/W/F or T/R and 5-8 hours Sat/Sun. That's 12-25 hours per week, and they all did sports and stuff.)

That's step 1, earn more.
Step 2, spend less.

You only earn $20 a day, and that's only 5/7 days per week. Think about that when you drop $10 at a hamburger joint.

Get that 7 grand out of that passbook. You are making nothing there. The perentage stinks. Ask your bank about interest bearing checking accounts. You can ha ve all your money in there and make better interest. Talk to an investment banker too.

Try popping into your local friendly bank; one that you have used before and have been happy with. Many banks now offer helpful solutions to make situations like yours easier, in terms of handling money etcetera. In the UK, banks now offer accounts that round up your debit card transactions to the nearest 20p, and then put that difference into a savings account - but these facilities have the flexibility to round up more in say, December, for Christmas, but to round less in January, for New Year's Resolutions. I'm sure banks in America will offer this too. Your bank should have people who can advise you in confidence about the best ways to make your money work from you, and they're professionals in the field. I hope you get on well!

Hope that helps,

Either get working the regular 40 hr week ($310 / wk) OR
Find a share rental / room for rent that is about $100 a month then start saving the left over.

It depends on your income. You need to spend about $300 less per week than you earn. This is the formula you want to use: weekly income - $300 = weekly spending. If you make $1000 a week, you deduct $300 from $1000, which leaves you with $700 to spend each week.

Try to see the reward at the end. Don't buy fast food, that "eats" up a ton of money. If you want to buy something think about it at least overnight and try to think if it will really make you happy or not.

One word, Budget!!! Take your bills, subtract them from your salary. The remaining money can be split between fun and saving. Be stict on yourself, my man, and your money will add up.
