By not using it & also because spell check is not perfect, I know that it hasn't caught a couple of my misspelled words. But I would say that 99% of the time it works great. But they're a lot of people out there that just don't care, so they don't use it! That is what I think, anyway!

Spell check doesn't always work. From personal experience, I know that some words aren't in there, or people add words to the dictionary in spell check. I think spell check can also be disabled sometimes (but i'm not sure). Also, when word checks grammar, it almost constantly messes up (I've gotten lower grades on school essays because I believed spell and grammer check).

It does seem a little silly, especially with the red squiggly lines in Microsoft Word.
One thing, though, is spell check doesn't really recognize context. If you type a word, it won't catch it. A lot of times, the wrong type of a word can be used, like "they're" "there" "their" , etc. All three are words, so spell check won't catch the wrong usage. :-)

Sometimes the spell check misses it. Or maybe they use a different form of the work and the spell check doesn't catch it. It happens to me sometimes. You can also set your computer so the spell check doesn't work.

so it makes you feel stupid if you use spell check so you go ahead and prove your stupidity by simply going ahead and misspelling the words. That is better?

This morning i grew to become into thoroughly shocked approximately this. that's exceedingly stupid. i do no longer likely attempt to misspell words, besides the fact that that's somewhat stressful while i'm no longer finished with writing something and it tells me that I certainly have written something incorrectly. Uh, I hate this new function.

Because not everyone uses the spell check. I don't, makes me feel stupid.

For the amount of money I put into my education I should be able to write without a machine telling me how its written.

I know people misuse words like: their/there, to/too, accept/except, effect/affect, etc.

Either that or they don’t use spell check. It’s always good to read out what you write because I have found out that you catch a lot of mistakes doing that.
