The smartest thing I ever did was to recognize that there were some important things I didn't learn growing up in a wacky family. I was very easily manipulated and took too much responsibility for the problems of those close to me. I lacked personal boundaries, and so I made a conscious choice to define what is mine to own and take responsibility for and what is not mine. I marked off my life in a healthy way and disengaged from the crazy-makers. Now I have the freedom to be who I am and a lot more room in my life for love and joy.

I'm still waiting for that event to happen...:)

I would say moving 2 years ago to another city, selling my place, buying another (which has doubled after only 1 year in value) and having a fantastic job that pays damn well and I hate it.....lol Well some days it isn't too bad...lol
First time I ever really made money on real estate in such a short time.

I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one--my teacher said I had a smart mouth every day. Then she slapped me, and that smarted too. lol

Seriously though, I once said something intelligent and useful (regarding data preservation) purely by accident to someone with a doctorate in materials science. When I failed to understand the rest of his discourse, he thought I was playing a joke on him.
