Can a show where people call in to vote be manipulated by repeated calling or a concerted effort? People have been voted off that seem to have more talent than Sanjaya...

when he first auditioned i thought he and his sister were kind of cute, but as time has gone on he's become kind of creepy, like michael jackson. that one week early on when he performed with the fedora hat on and a ponytail and these horrible polyester "slacks" i thought i was going to barf! he is ok talented, but he would come in last of the contestants that are still on the show. and what was up with that girl crying and crying over him last week??? was she planted there on purpose? hmmmmm...

It's all about the fans baby! You have to have fans willing to invest 2 hours of their time to vote for you. I'm a Sanjaya fan (a fanjaya ~ if you will) and I've repeat voted for 2 hours every week so far. My husband is a Howard Stern fan ~ guess how many times he's voted ~ 0. While the Howard Stern fans and votefortheworst people are talking a good game ~ they aren't investing their time in voting. It's Sanjaya's real fans that are keeping him on the show! And that's right where he deserves to be!!!

Part of it is Howard Stern's radio show plugging Sanjaya, mainly because he wanted to prove that the show results could be manipulated. Sanjaya has a lot of little girls calling for him, and you can call as many times as you want to and can get through. I vote online, and it will only accept one vote.

I honestly don't know how he can still be on the show.....he should have been voted off long ago and he can't even be compared to all the talented performers on that show! I am having a hard time believing in the "America's vote". The only way is all the little dumb girls who keep calling and voting. Even if there was an age requirement it could hardly be enforced!

He is lasting so long because people are voting for the best and the worst and so the people that are in the middle are being voted out.
But yes Repeated calling is the reason why the votes are being manipulated.

I think some people just like to vote for the people that suck.there's even a web site I think its called vote for the worst.com the whole web site is aimed at voting for all the bad American idol contestants..

People like him, They voted off Better Contestants then him, Remember Taylor Hicks won last year, and He's Hated by Simon Cowell on Personal Level.
This all Judges including Randy and Paula don't like this Guy, but you always proves them wrong.

I think he has a lot of very young girls voting for him. He has a very sweet personality and in a time of Paris and Lindsay he would be a nice role model.

i wish he wasnt on there, he sucks big time! its all the little girls voting for him!!! and you know whats weird is that when ryan seacrest says to call as many times as u want, well it only counts once so they are getting all this extra money that doesnt count for a vote!!!
