Unidentified Submarine Objects vs U. Flying O.
It was noted that a number of sightings involved crafts that were seen exiting or entering bodies of water, and some have been recorded with sonar.
Remember, the U. means unidentified, NOT flying saucer.

UFO's are things we can't identify in the sky and the USO is a type of entertainment for the armed forces in the U.S. USO shows are productions for the people who are in battle and they're also the USO places where coffee and snacks are served to any military personnel. Very popular from WWII on. (See Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, Martha Raye websites).
