On the sims2, how do you get downloaded characters and items on to the game?

go to my documents, ea games, downloads and click on any box you see and it will install.

1. when you first install it you register to sims2
2. go to the sims2.com
3.click exchange and press lots for houses and sims for people
4. download and then when your on press create family and on the top there is a button looks like this * and you click it it shows you the sim that you downloaded.
5. if you want a lot then press the lot bin and there the house you downloaded put it in a area and there you go
6. but everything you downloaded there a button looks like a star like this *

I miss read the question sorry but far as getting your items to appear in game.
you need to put what you have download into the plugins folder for Sims 2 which is located in either My Documents then Sims 2 folder or c drive then progam files then to maxis Sims 2
