If you can only have one pair of earrings, I vote for a nice hoop, I think they are very versatile.
However, I love both dangling and hoops and I think it depends on your hair-style and your outfit as to which you should wear on any given day. If you do choose hoops, be careful about the shape. I look horrible in oval hoops, but nice in round ones.
I wear my giant hoops when my hair is pulled back and I am wearing jeans and casual sundresses, smaller, thicker 18k hoops with suits.
I usually save my dangling earrings for dressier casual or evening outfits and I like to have my hair up when I wear them. I hate it when my hair snags in my earrings.
Regardless of hoops or dangling, if you are going to be holding babies or toddlers, stick with small studs. Those little hands love to grab hold earrings and yank!

I wear hoop earrings.

I think that u should wear dangling earrings that match your outfit b/c that is super cute, definitely not hoops b/c I think they look slutty unless they are small

Depends what youre wearing them with
hoops look nice but more casual than dangling so can be worn with jeans more

I like both. Each serves their purpose. BUT if I could only wear one forever, it would have to be a dangly, not a hoop.
