In addition to the general sites, there are subject-specific sites which often have more in-depth information for research. A few are listed below:

There are several places on the internet where you can go to get help with your homework or projects. You don't say where you are from so I assume you are from the States. Also, do you need help in all subject sor basically just one, like Math. I'm asking because there are many sites and most of them are for a particular subject, but here are some general sites. These sites I have listed are the ones where you type in the question or what you need help with and a real person replies and helps you.
For general help, these are probably the best:
http://www.brainyyack.com/?gclid=CLOH5_mejosCFQF-Pgode1QlVg
http://pathwhelp.org/
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8973891/
http://www.allexperts.com/
There are also many sites that are set up to show and explain information to you - most of these are math sites.
I hope the sites I have given you are the types you wanted. If not, try giving more information in your question so that we know exactly what you are looking for. Good Luck!

This website has links to sites about most subjects: http://www.homeworkspot.com/
Personally (i'm in eighth grade), it's easy to go to the website of a famous organization about the topic you're studying, so if it's space, go to NASA's site www.nasa.gov. If it's World War II, go to The History Channel's site www.history.com. For grammar, most college/school sites work, they end with ".edu" like owl.english.purdue.edu

Try Knowitnow.com or homework.com
You may also want to try to visit the website of your local public library. There may be a link to something like "Ask a librarian" or "Ask a question."
That's what the two websites I've listed are from library webpages.
