It's a trick question. Cars don't have any weels. But most do come standard with four WHEELS. And those are only on there so the car dealer can make some extra cash selling you something that you really don't need. But a car does look better with those ugly gaps in the fenders filled up with something.

Some have three. Can't imagine a car with two staying upright. The sign of a good driver will be no scratch marks on the side where you kept tipping over. If you had a car with two wheels would you need to carry passengers of roughly the same weight? No good if you're 10 stone and they're 15.

Why should cars NOT have 4 wheels, Besides adding stability and all that stuff, Who wants to be stared at driving a 3 wheeled car....If you really want to, Buy a 3 wheeled car, or better yet, drive a motorcycle, or ride your bike. Everyones answering "some have three wheels" but thats avoiding the question, and theyre forgetting some have even 16 wheels, like a huge Semi...

They don't always do they. there are quite a few 3 wheelers, the Reliant Robin(Del Boy), Morgan and others I can't remember. No matter how many 3,4or more the car has to be balanced to maintain stability in both straight driving and cornering. This is taken care of in the design of the car.For normal use I think that the 4 wheel car has proved to be the most stable.

Reliants have 3 wheels and are mares to drive in the snow. Trying to keep at least one wheel in the tracks of cars in front is a white knuckle job. Early 1980's Tyrell Formula 1 cars had six wheels (two sets at the front, one set at the back) but it never caught on.

Not all do, but a four wheel setup gives the car better stability and handling.
