just quit working. Its full of water and wet clothes. My wife has been wanting a new set for awhile so I just want to get the water and my clothes out and get rid of the washer. Is there a way to drain the water out? Or do I need to start bailing water?

After further research I discovered that the lid switch was broken. I cut the switch off and tied the wires together and now everything works fine. Now I can put off buying new ones for awhile longer.

I wish people would read before they answer. Please replace the switch. It's not worth a dislocated elbow or sholder. Sooner or later someone is going to reach in while its spinning or slowing down.

You can put a garden hose down into the tub of water, turn it on for a second to clear the air out, then quickly shut off the water unscrew the hose and lay on the ground this should create a siphoning affect and draw the water out as long as its underwater and doesn't lose it's vacuum.

We need a little more info..
Like was said.. maybe your pump or pump belt broke. But, maybe your timer switch broke, like mine did. Does it make motor type or other noises, or is it dead quiet?

My timer died in the wash cycle and washed my clothes for about an hour before I caught it! If yours died in that "quiet" phase after washing, but before draining it would be dead quiet. Try very slowly turning the dial if you can and see if it will start the draining process. If so, your timer is bad. Mine cost about $100 for the part. Add (?) for labor if you can't replace it yourself.
