I am high school senior and I want a very good "decent" priced laptop to go to college with. I was thinking of buying one from ebay since I've already bought a laptop before from ebay and it works very well. Also, what should I look for in a laptop? I mean like amount of memory, size of screen, processor type, processor speed, operating system, hard drive.... that kind of stuff. PLEASE HELP!!

wow you're just like my position. I got a Toshiba Satelitte A135-S4477 which is just loaded with a 2GB ram which is a lil unnecssary but i want to stay ahead of technology. Its loaded with a dual 180 gb hard drive and a 5200 Centrino Duo processer which is the second fastest on the market today. All that means probably nothing to you but it just really depends on what you are going to do. Im planning to buy a smaller hard drive which is about 50 and use it to connect to this as well for additional space if i ever need it. Its just all preference, just get a big enough size of processor and at least a 512 mb ram or even 1GB and you will be pretty well suited. My vista is awesome and im just loving every single minute of it. Good Luck i hope this helps, email if you need more help.

Macs are good if you are still in school but since you are almost out i would get a pc (windows). The amount of memory depends on what operating system you have. The minimum for windows xp is 512mb of ram and for Vista is around a Gigabyte of ram or more. I dont suggest you get Vista for a few years they have lot of de-bugging to get around to. Look for a processor over 2ghz and anything below isnt really that great. A 40 gig hard drive will be plenty of room.

Windows XP professional

2.0 ghz processor or more

40 gig hard drive

512 megs of ram or more

Will be a decent laptop, search for and Acer or Asus laptops, and go to http://www.newegg.com/ for great deals.

If you have used the Macintosh and like it, there is no reason to purchase another computer brand.

With the advent of Intel Core2Duo processors in all Mac laptop models, you can run either OS X or Windows XP (or Vista, shortly...) under a dual boot configuration or using third party software like Parallels Desktop.

The build quality of the MacBook and MacBook Pro models is outstanding, especially after the first generation bugs were resolved.

Look them over.
