Fyodor Mikhailvich Dostoyevsky 'The Brothers Karamazov'. Everything that is in life, is included in that book. Forget Crime & Punishment right now!!!! 'The Idiot' by the same author is also awe-inspiringly good

I've read around 2,000 books and I'm only 23, and I'd have to say the most moving compelling book I've ever read was "Goodbye Darkness" by William Manchester. It's a must read for all prolific readers. And for all the other prolific reading people who made recommendations, thank you! I'll do my best to check all of them out! Another good one for any prolific reader to check out is Nancy Pearl's reference book "Book Lust" there isn't a book in that book that I have read and haven't been moved or found it excellent.

Night Swimmer by Joseph Olshan
I'm not really a prolific reader but this book I remember well even though I read it nine years ago. It fitted well into my life at that time.

I'd find it difficult to narrow just one book down as the best of all time. But if you are looking for a good, well-thought-out compelling book, try The Time Traveller's Wife which was a great read.

Its called The Island by Victoria Hislop. Its a wonderful book. Have you ever been to a Greek island? This is set off Crete, on an old Leper colony - please dont let that put you off its about families, love, and triumph. Its not depressing, its the kind of book you wish you hadnt finished, and you miss the characters.
