File a missing spouse divorce. They take a little longer because every means of serving his due process of law has to be used up and has to be printed in local newspapers to notify him of a legal action against him with a court date. If he fails to show the judge automatically grants you your divorce and everything you filed for. But again a problem anything monetary awarded you will be hard to collect unless he is found. Good luck

You could get a private eye to find him.
Some states allow a divorce, without the other person there, due to abandonment, or no contact for a certain amount of years. It varies from state to state.
Contact the legal aid department through your court. They will give you free legal advice.

Check the local divorce law where you live. Many jurisdictions have laws which will grant you a divorce without contacting your ex, simply based on time spent apart.

I think there is some procedure where you take out an ad in the newspaper and let it run for a set period of time (trying to make an effort to contact the ex) and after that, you can file.

You really need to check this out with your local courts. Each state has different laws about this. My sister went through the same thing and all she had to do was put it in the newspaper where she lived at the time.

Turn the matter over to a divorce lawyer. He can trace him through a soc. sec. no., etc.
