Type. The point is to make it readable, not show your penmenship, and you probably cannot write as clearly as a typewritten page.

I work part time in processing job upgrades at alumni. All
the personnel prefer a double copy. Write it neatly and
in good penmanship. Elaborate on the type copy if you like
this is not supposed to be a perfect copy , writing is a very
polite and courteous person's trust. Today the people that
get the best jobs are polite, well tuned, and well scheduled
to do productive and safety concerned work. This is a good year to enter college, the class of 2010 is highly picked
out for good students, studies is serious, and dedication is
a well achieved resulting choice. The job market coming on
is better and holds some interesting new fields.

If you have great handwriting, you can hand write it (I did mine). But at least photocopy it, for sentimental purposes, I don't have a copy of my old ones, sadly.

Handwriting can look more personal to the University, make them feel special. If they have trouble reading it though, it might have a negative effect. And they may try to analyze your handwriting too. It all depends on how good your handwriting is.

Also, make sure to keep the paper clean, and not wrinkled. Use quality ink, so it doesn't smear. and keep a copy in a safe place.

Definitely not handwritten. Things are always preferred typed and neat so that you don't put the other person throught the effort of reading your handwriting. It's a question of tidyness and politeness, it's a nice gesture. Of course your signature should be handwritten and in blue ink if possible.

Typed. Looks more professional.

I would definitely type it because it is much neater and more professional.
