Sure its true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but isn't it also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives?

The ultimate catch22...we learn lessons throughout life by mistakes, poor choices, pure stupidy and so on...we loose respect, money, friends and in regards to love...our partner. We learn and loose and may never get back anything remotely close in any area again. Great...so we learned the hard way...spend the rest of our lives with regret and sadness, and sure we could apply our lessons to another relationship but we find nothing in the same realm...so we settle...think about it probably daily- cry...and go through the motions of life with somebody else - empty... So we learn throughout life many lessons and in many areas about many things and by the time we have it all straight - we have no time to apply these lessons to our life. I would rather not have known. I miss him...

Are you asking "we also don't know what we're looking for"? Better give importance to everything you have, any person you are with than be sorry for the rest of your life when the time comes that you just learned you loss them.
