My Dvd Drive has power, but the icon has disappered from My Computer, and its not in Device Manager Either.?

it opens and closes, it just doesnt appear in My Computer and Device Manager

check the IDE cable on back of it to and from the mobo(or SATA cable if a new one)

If you know the manufacturer of the drive, visit their website and see if they have a driver listed that's available for download for your particular drive. If so, download it and install it.

enable the driver, sounds like harddrive problem
