According to Malthusian theory then no it is not as eventully population will outstrip the capacity for the world to sustain it. There is a belief that eventually limitations will have to be placed on human populations or nature will start to enforce its own population limitations in the forms of disease and famine.

No I read somewhere how many people the US could comfortabley hold and not over burden the system and it was a lot less than that. Have to look it up can't remember how many it said. But it was a lot less than that.
