Will Power. Carry nail clippers in your pocket. When you feel like biting, just pull out your clippers. That worked for me.

I had a boyfriend that told me to really take a look at all the stuff that was under my nails, that was just gross. It did help for awhile because I wanted to please him. The next thing that I did was to go and get my nails done in acrylic. This made them harder to bight, and They looked so nice long and painted that I didn't bite as much. Now a year latter I don't bite at all and I did this for myself.Good luck! PS Some people seem to be able to stop in a few days, some a few weeks, and for some a few months. Remember if a first you don't succeed try try again.

OK for one these answers are really stupid. It all depends on if you want to grow them out or just stop chewing them. And please wash your hands, that's gross. lol well anyways put nail polish on them. I had to go through the same thing. Always carry nail clippers with you if you don't want to grow your nails out. Then just keep it in your mind not to bite them when you feel like biting them or try. Just think of something else to do at the moment whenever you feel like biting them or clip them. Try your hardest but this is what I did and it worked very well. It is really all about your will, and nail polish tastes nasty. LOL I hope I helped.

you know what you ought to do? end learning, bypass out and locate a chemist (or drug keep...I dunno what they might call it on your united states of america), and locate a nail polish there extremely for nail biting. once you place it on, it rather is sparkling and un-noticable. yet once you bypass to chew your nails...BAM! The style is undesirable. It tastes like domicile paint blended with banana. VERY DISGUSTING. you may in basic terms style it nevertheless, not scent it, so do not undertaking concerning the heady scent making you ill. That facilitates a lot with nail biting. Use it until eventually you end completly, have confidence me, it particularly works. it rather is non poisonous, by way of ways.

This may sound silly, but wear gloves. That way when your hand reaches for your mouth, you would taste the disgusting cloth of it. Another option for you is to buy this product called Control It! You apply it onto your fingertips and then when you taste it you taste the bitter taste of the substance. You can also try getting a nice manicure so you would want to keep your nails looking nice and pretty...you wouldn't want to ruin them. I never had a nail-biting problem, but my friend's mom told me of these things. I hope this helps!

The thing that got me to stop biting them recently was reading something about how many germs and how much dirt and junk gets under our nails. Think about a typical week and how many places we go, where we put our hands plus the fact that when we wash our hands, unless we specifically use a finger nail brush, the soap and water doesnt clean under our nails. Everytime Im about to bite them, I remember how much junk is under them and think, do I really want that nasty stuff in my mouth? no thanks! good luck

I use press on nails. I wear them for a week and then I stop biting my nails. I keep a pair handy in case i start biting them again.

I have the same habit.
What i did was put a black nail polish on.
because if i chew my nail, then ill probably end up chewing the nail polish off.
and that will make my nails&polish look ugly =[
but i didn't chew my nails cuz then it would look weird.
kept it on for about 2-3 weeks.
Nails grew.
so that's what i do =]
