Severely divided.
The right and the left have staked out their territories--pitting everyone against each other based on political viewpoints or stances.

America is not united... The Americas the lands and regions of the Western hemisphere, often divided into North America and South America.
however if you are talking about United States of America.... yes it seems united...

both. Americans are united in their basic concerns for the well being of America. however, we are often miles apart on how to best manifest solutions to such concerns
it doesn't help that our "leadership" keeps us at each others throats, dividing us from each other by propagating labels and caricatures, highlighting differences instead of building bridges with commonalities.

America is badly fragmented, largely between "traditionalists" and "progressives". It seems as if there is no middle way anymore and our governmental institutions, reflecting the conflict in the larger society, are losing the ability to reach healthy compromise.

Americans are United, --------------the insurgens,=Iraqis, nazi's,communists and some who step in just to STIR THE POT are not united.===Most colored people are OK, whereas others are lazy, dirty, dont care attitude, theirs always someone that cant make the best of life without blameing someone or something for their own failures.--This is normal in any country.

Honestly... The way I see it is disunited.
