Can I prevent another computer that is connected on the same router from getting internet connection (without removing the ethernet cable)?

Like is there a way using command prompt or changing the router's settings?

I think we are using DHCP and I know the mac address and everything, but I don't know where to go from there.

when you are using an LAN for your connection you can disconnect from your location , but the service provider must know to disconnect from theirs or you will continue to be billed.

Are you using windows?

If so, in the tray(where the clock is), there should also be a little network icon. double click it, and a 'Network Connection Status' thing will pop up. Next click on 'Support', that will tell you some info, like 'IP Address' and 'Default Gateway'.
What you want to do is type the Default Gateway number on the address bar of either firefox, internet explorer, or whatever browser you use. That will take you to the router settings page. Depending on the router, you will have to enter some password to get in.

If it's Linksys, it usually is :
admin: (leave blank)
password: admin
If it's belkin, chances are it will only ask for password. Leave it blank. If any other router, just google it, like 'xyz router password'...

Once inside the settings, you can navigate as if it was a regular web page. Look for Client IP Filters or similar, usually under firewall settings. Once in there you will be able to enter the computer's IP you want to block.

Hope that helps

It depends on the router.
Would need more information about your setup.
Assuming everyone has a static IP (not using DHCP) you should be able to block by IP on the switch/router you are using depending on it's capabilities.
If you are using DHCP you will need to block by mac or port (if you know which port they are plugged in to) and this is also dependent on the capabilities of your gear.

If you have admin rights to the router settings or the network itself...yes. Admin adds or drops computers from the network.
