The Suppliers answer makes no sense other than sell something you shouldn't need. I believe they meant contacting your Internet provider. You wouldn't be wireless with the USB device. Powering off everything and waiting a few minutes would be the first step to try. Are there connectivity issues with any other computer on the router?

You may simply need to "reboot" your modem and router; unplug them both for about 30 seconds. Plug the modem back in, and make sure that all its indicator lights are showing what they should. Once that's true, plug the router back in, and let ITS indicator lights go to their normal states. At that point, you should have connectivity.

If you don't have connectivity, it's time to eliminate the router and make sure the modem is working properly; I have a long (50-foot) piece of cat-5 cable I keep on hand just for the purpose. If you can connect via wire, but not via wireless, then your router may be toast. If you can't connect via a wired connection, then either your provider is having problems, or your modem is on the blink. Contact your provider, and let them see if they can detect the modem (or if they're having problems in your area). If they aren't having problems, and they can't detect your modem, then it's probably going to have to be replaced by whoever actually owns it.

If it says limited connectivity, try resetting your router. This kind of problem will happen if you try to set up a home network to share files and you do it wrong.

Make sure you hold down the reset button on your router for 45 seconds, or it won't reset. Also, unplug your modem and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, try hooking up the modem directly to one PC without the router. If it works, then you've probably configured something wrong in your router, and you should contact Netgear technical support.
