By blank check and unbridled authority I presume you mean that the republicans rubber stamped all bush's dreams, budgets, without out oversight?
I agree.
We the people have a right to expect our government officials live by the same "oversight" that we do. We have to verify and prove our very identity time and time again, but for some reason illegals can get what we want/need/deserve without the same criteria we have demanded of us. When America is TRULY sick of it, they will just so "no more"
The elected have insulated themselves from "regular citizens" and are out of touch with the reality of life in America.
Economic indicators do not measure the price of middle class American lives that is paid, for the "gains and growth" reported. The new jobs are not the same paying or with the same benefits. Everything is "sold separetly". The hours are not the same either.
You can't have economic's gain in a country where the numbers of Americans living in the shadows of the best medical care in the world, are denied it or lose their life savings, homes, etc to save their lives. The uninsured and underinsured are growing by the millions, while the millions of dollars are growing in the corps bankaccounts. Elected officials have better health care plans than our very own military for Christ sakes. Illegals get better care than our men and women in uniform. They get foodstamps, heap, all sorts of benefits that are denied our military people. The illegals don't have to prove more than "no comprende" no speaky english. Our military Veterans are still fighting to get help from the VA for the last Gulf war and "Deserty Storm Syndrome" and bush wanted to start another macho war.
We need to pull the plug on the "numbers game" that is played, on both sides of the isle.
Demand accountability. Write your State & Federal reps.
above all VOTE!
and yes I do...

All of Congress, except for Barbara Lee (of Oakland and Berkeley, CA) abdicated their responsibilities and handed the reigns over to that freak-moid.
Not to mention the media -- and, I hate to say it, a huge majority of the American people.
We were attacked, and almost everyone caved.
I'm just hoping some have learned from that -- having been attacked does NOT a good leader make.
(Bush's ratings had been sliding into the toilet -- after 9/11 they hit 90% approval, and only slowly slid down to where they are now. Shameful but true.)

Because he is a Republican President and they feel that they have to give him anything he wants, just because he is Republican. They never turn down a Republican for anything
his wish is their command. They know he has totally ruined the Republican party name and before long there will no longer be a Republican party, so they just go along with him, but their minds are as sick as his , so whatever.

Why is it that Democrats never recognize the fact that both House and Senate have members of both parties?
If you truly want to know,,,

Now let us get down to how a government functions especially ours.
You can post partisan BS until doomsday but it means Jack.

That Congress did alot behind closed doors. Democrats would want to speak up and would be squelched. Over and over again. Payback time.

They did, when? Both dems and repubs voted to authorize use of force against Iraq, but I don't recall what you claim.
