Yesterday I had a conversation with one of my guy friends about selfishness. He has a gf and is with her one year but this last period he is feeling like he don't love her any more. That's why I told him to brake up with him because it's better for the both of them.I think that it is not fair for the girl to live in lies all the time thinking that her bf loves her. That's selfish! But from his point of view the situation is different. He is saying that all this past year was selfish with his gf and cared just for himself and now wants to think for his gf too.According to him, he doesn't want to ruin her 18th birthday and her prom(she'll celebrate them in about 2 months)so he says that he will brake up with her after this important events for her.But in the same time he says that if in meantime appears some girl he likes, he will brake up with his current gf?!What do you think?I still think that he is selfish!

i see how he wants to not hurt her feelings but i think its better for her to know the thruth than think he still likes her. i dont really think its selfish because he wants what's best for her but he doesn't realize that its gonna hurt his gf even more when she knows he didn't like him for 2 months and was just pretending.

That is definitly selfish!!!!!!!!
He shouldn't wait for the important events to come around!
If he dosen't care anymore he should break-up with her NOW! that way she can have time to find some one else to share those important high school experiences with! it's always harder when you've shared important experiences with this person!! that de-values the experience totally!!
Which would leave her with horrible memories about her 18th birthday and senior prom(which is the MOST important!)

I think he should break up with her now.
two months is a long time.
his girlfriend could be falling in love with him,
while he's just waiting to get her birthday and Prom
over with.

What kind of logic is this person using??? Break up with the girl. Let her get on with her life and he get on with his.
