I have 3 kids that all get up at different times and the older one gets a little cranky now if the youngest wakes him up. I have toys in their rooms so whoever gets up first can play quietly until the others get up. Depending on the kids age, put a TV, VCR, DVD player, Game boy, etc. in their room. We gave one of our kids the old PlayStation when we upgraded to XBox. They also have the plug in games for TVs. If the child gets hungry then I put some cereal or granola bar and a juice box in a bag and put it by the door as a surprise in the morning if it is a day we want to "try" to sleep in =)

If I put my kids to be an hour later, they always get up an hour earlier. That never worked for me.

Put him to bed at a later time. It depends on how late you sleep. ids are morning people and the earlier the better for them. Just try to keep him up later in the night and not such long naps and he will adjust.

Put a clock in his room - tell him if he gets up before (whatever time) he has to play quietly in his room until (whatever time). It would be helpful to know the child's age, what time he goes to bed and what time he wakes up. You'll be happy he's an early riser when he starts going to school.

Put him to bed an hour later....and then get up an hour earlier and play with him, just the two of you. One day you will miss your time together!

My son is 13 now, and I cant get him up before noon.........I reflect fondly and miss our special times together.

Quit whining and get up and play with the child. You wont ever regret it. Some day you will wish that he were there to play with. They grow up so fast. By the way, when he gets older, you wont have to worry about him getting up early. Ask any teenager.

Try putting him to bed later.
My son does the same thing, he is 3 yrs. old. He used to be always getting up before the rest of us, however when we examined our schedule we saw that we were putting him to bed 2-3 hrs. before us and so he would be getting up before us as well.

You're just going to have to get up with him until his sleep schedule changes. Try putting him to bed later.
